Situated within an early Craftsman home, this project is a beautiful example of why homes from this era continue to be so admired. Rich in original millwork, thoughtful proportions, and timeless architectural details, the house had incredible bones. While the kitchen and powder room felt dated, the layout worked beautifully, making it possible to preserve the home's integrity without removing walls, or altering its original footprint.
The homeowners envisioned a home that balanced refined simplicity, with their vibrant collection of contemporary, colourful art. The challenge was to create spaces that felt authentic to the home's Craftsman heritage while introducing a fresh, modern sensibility. Every decision was made to honour the existing architecture, allowing clean, understated design to serve as the perfect backdrop for both the home's original character and the homeowners' bold personal style.
Every detail was considered through the lens of longevity and craftsmanship. Rather than competing with the home's original character, the new kitchen and powder room quietly reinforce it through quality materials, custom detailing, and a palette that feels both warm and interesting.
